Using Helper Text
MetaPhotoAI's AI is highly advanced, but sometimes images can be abstract or technical, making it difficult for the AI to identify exactly what it's looking at. Helper Text allows you to provide a brief nudge to the AI, ensuring the generated titles, descriptions, and keywords are 100% accurate.
Why Use Helper Text?#
| Use Case | Example |
|---|---|
| Identify Specialized Tools | The AI might see a "digital caliper" and label it a generic "ruler." Helper text clarifies the specific tool. |
| Describe Abstract Scenes | If a macro shot is unrecognizable (e.g., the nozzle of a 3D printing pen), helper text provides the necessary context. |
| Increase Accuracy | By providing a small hint, you ensure that the AI-generated metadata is professional and precise for stock agency submissions. |
Adding or Editing Helper Text#
You can add helper text to a single image or a batch of similar images:
Select your media
Select the image(s) in the bottom filmstrip.
Open context menu
Right-click on the selection.
Navigate to Helper Text
Navigate to Helper Text > Add/Edit Helper Text.
Enter description
In the dialog box, type a short description (up to 150 characters). For example: "Close up of digital caliper."
Save
Click "Save."
Visual Indicator#
Once helper text is added, a small question mark icon will appear at the top of the thumbnail in the filmstrip. This allows you to quickly see which images have been "guided."
Generating Metadata with Helper Text#
After adding your helper text, you can generate (or re-generate) your metadata:
Select files
Select the file(s) with helper text.
Clear existing metadata (optional)
If the file already has metadata, you may want to Clear it first (click the "Clear" button in the bottom action bar).
Generate
Click "Generate Metadata."
Review results
The AI will now use your text as a reference, providing specific metadata based on your description.
Tip
Instead of generic tags like "metal object," the AI will correctly identify items like "3D printing pen nozzle" when given proper helper text.
Removing Helper Text#
If you no longer need the guide or want to start fresh:
Right-click
Right-click the image(s).
Clear helper text
Navigate to Helper Text > Clear Helper Text.
Best Practices#
| Practice | Description |
|---|---|
| Be specific | "Digital caliper measuring component" is better than "tool" |
| Keep it brief | 150 characters is the limit—focus on key identifying details |
| Use for batches | Apply the same helper text to similar images in a series |
Note
By using Helper Text, you can take full control of the AI analysis process, ensuring your media library is tagged with expert-level precision.
