Folder-Specific Settings
MetaPhotoAI offers a powerful way to customize how metadata is generated on a folder-by-folder basis. This allows you to override your global application settings to meet the specific requirements of different projects or stock agencies.
Enabling Folder Settings#
Select folder
Select the folder you want to customize from the left sidebar.
Open Folder Settings tab
In the right-hand panel, click the "Folder Settings" tab (the folder icon next to the "Metadata" and "Info" tabs).
Enable
Toggle the "Enable Folder Settings" switch to the ON position.
Note
Once enabled, any changes made in this panel will apply only to the media within this specific folder, overriding your global preferences.
Available Configuration Categories#
The Folder Settings are organized into several sections:
General#
Choose to automatically use filenames as "Helper Text" for the AI.
Copyright#
Set specific copyright information for the media in this folder.
System Prompt#
Provides advanced instructions directly to the AI. See System Prompts for detailed guidance.
Location#
Configure a default location (City, State, Country) to be used for editorial captions.
Titles, Descriptions, and Keywords#
Fine-tune the formatting of generated text:

Power Feature: Custom System Prompts#
The System Prompt section allows you to guide the AI's creative process with specific instructions:
Open System Prompt section
Go to Folder Settings > System Prompt.
Enter instructions
Enter your custom instructions. For example: "For the title please put '--breadman' as a suffix at the end... same for the description... and include 'breadman' as one of the keywords."
Generate metadata
When you process the images in this folder, the AI will follow your exact instructions.
Applying Changes#
After configuring your folder-specific settings:
Select media
Select the images or videos in the filmstrip.
Generate
Click "Generate Metadata" (or clear existing metadata first).
Review
The AI will analyze the files using the new rules you've established for that folder.
