Global Settings

Define default behavior and formatting rules for the entire application.

Accessing Global Settings#

• Navigation Bar: Click the Settings gear icon
• Command Palette: Choose Open Settings
• Menu Bar: Open the Settings menu

Configuration Categories#

Settings includes these tabs:

• General: Language, theme, tips, helper text, autosave, tooltips, filmstrip numbers, file import behavior
• Copyright: Default copyright and usage terms
• Location: Primary location for editorial captions
• Titles, Description, Keywords, Categories: Formatting rules and limits
• CSV Files: CSV export behavior
• Rules/Warnings: Validation and warning behavior
• Uploading: Upload behavior
• Metadata Write: EXIF and file-writing behavior
• System Prompts: Saved generation prompts
• Local Processing: Ollama/local AI settings
• Batch Processing: Batch behavior
• Confirmations: Confirmation preferences
• Upscaling: Upscale behavior
• Devices, Cache, Sync, Privacy: App management and privacy controls
• Keyboard Shortcuts: View and customize shortcuts

Settings Search#

Use the Search settings... field at the top of the Settings window to find a setting by name, such as Language, File Import Behavior, Local Processing, or Keyboard Shortcuts.

Automatic Saving#

MetaPhotoAI automatically saves any change you make. There is no "Save" or "Apply" button - changes take effect immediately.
