Configuring Location

Manage location information for professional editorial captions.

Automatic vs. Manual Location#

• Automatic: If your camera recorded GPS coordinates, MetaPhotoAI will automatically extract and convert them to readable location.
• Manual: If no GPS data exists, you must specify a location to use "Format as Editorial."

Setting Global Default Location#

1. Click Settings (gear icon) in the navigation bar.
2. Select the Location tab.
3. Enter your default City, State/Province, and Country.
4. Configure GPS-based location behavior if you want embedded coordinates to take priority.

Folder-Specific Locations#

For projects shot in different locations:

1. Select the folder in the folder panel.
2. Click the Settings tab in the right panel.
3. Enable folder-specific settings if needed.
4. Expand the Location section.
5. Enter the specific City, State, and Country.

You can also use the command palette Location command for selected images.
