Importing Videos
Adding and managing videos in MetaPhotoAI is just as easy as handling photos.
Adding Videos#
You can import videos into MetaPhotoAI using the same methods as photos:
Add Folder:
- Click Add Folder in the folder panel.
- Select the folder containing your video files and click Open.
- MetaPhotoAI processes the videos and generates previews.
Command Palette:
- Press Cmd/Ctrl+K.
- Choose Add Folder for a video folder, or Add Files to Folder to import videos into the current folder.
Drag and Drop:
- Select a video file or folder in Finder or File Explorer.
- Drag and drop it onto MetaPhotoAI.
Previewing and Playing Videos#
Once your videos are loaded, you can interact with them directly:
-
Playback: Select a video from the bottom film strip to load it into the main preview area. Use the playback controls (Play/Pause, Seek bar) to view the video.
-
Audio: Note that previews are optimized for performance and may have audio removed or quality reduced.
-
Viewing Original Quality: If you need to inspect the full-resolution file, click the "View original video" button below the preview player. MetaPhotoAI reveals the original video in Finder or File Explorer so you can open it with your preferred player.
Video Metadata and Settings#
In the right-hand panel, you'll find video-specific options:
Video Speed: You can specify the recorded speed:
- Normal: Standard speed footage
- Slow Motion: High-frame-rate footage
- Timelapse: Photos taken at intervals combined into video
- Hyperlapse: Timelapse where camera moves between frames
AI Metadata Generation: Click "Generate Metadata" to have the AI analyze the video content and suggest a Title, Description, and Keywords.
Tip
MetaPhotoAI supports MP4 and MOV video formats.
