Getting Started/Importing Videos

Importing Videos

Adding and managing videos in MetaPhotoAI is just as easy as handling photos. The application supports a similar workflow for importing, previewing, and organizing your video files.

Adding Videos#

You can import videos into MetaPhotoAI using the same methods as photos:

Using the "Add Folder" Button#

Click Add Folder

Click the "Add Folder" button in the left panel.

Select video folder

Select the folder containing your video files and click "Open."

Wait for processing

MetaPhotoAI will process the videos and generate previews for them.

Drag and Drop#

Select videos

Select a video file or a folder of videos from your computer's file explorer.

Drop into MetaPhotoAI

Drag and drop it onto the Directory Browser (left panel), the Preview Area (center), or the Film Strip (bottom).

Automatic organization

The videos will be added and organized within the application.

Previewing and Playing Videos#

Once your videos are loaded, you can interact with them directly:

  • Playback: Select a video from the bottom film strip to load it into the main preview area. Use the playback controls (Play/Pause, Seek bar) to view the video.
  • Audio: Note that previews are optimized for performance and may have audio removed or quality reduced.
  • Original Quality: If you need to see the full-resolution video, click the "view original video" link located just below the preview player. This will open the source file in your computer's default video player.

Note

Video previews are optimized for quick browsing. For full quality playback, use the "view original video" option.

Video Metadata and Settings#

In the right-hand panel, you'll find video-specific options to help categorize and tag your footage:
