Adding Folders
MetaPhotoAI provides two convenient ways to import your photo collections by adding folders to the application. Here is a guide on how to use both methods.
Method 1: Drag and Drop#
This is often the quickest way to add a folder if you already have your file explorer open.
Locate your folder
Open your computer's file explorer (Finder on Mac or File Explorer on Windows) and find the folder containing the photos you want to import.
Drag the folder
Click and hold the folder, then drag it over to the MetaPhotoAI window.
Drop into the directory browser
Release the mouse button to drop the folder into the "Folders" panel on the left side of the screen.
Wait for loading
The folder will appear in your list, and MetaPhotoAI will automatically begin generating previews and loading the contents.
Method 2: Using the "Add Folder" Button#
If you prefer using a standard selection dialog, follow these steps:
Click Add Folder
Locate and click the + Add Folder button at the top left of the MetaPhotoAI interface.
Select your folder
A system window will pop up showing your computer's files. Navigate to the folder you wish to add and click on it to select it.
Confirm selection
Click the Open (or Select Folder) button at the bottom of the dialog window.
View results
The selected folder will be added to the directory list on the left, and you can then click on it to view and manage its photos.
Tip
Once a folder is added using either method, you can easily switch between different folders in the sidebar to organize and edit metadata for your images.
