Command Palette

Find actions quickly without needing to remember where a button or menu lives.

Opening Commands#

  1. Press Cmd/Ctrl+K or click the search field at the top of the app.
  2. The command palette opens with the most common commands collapsed at the top.
  3. Type an action name, such as Add Folder, Batch Metadata, Open Queue, or Set Copyright.
  4. Choose a command to run it.

Browsing Available Commands#

When the search field is empty, the command section shows how many commands are visible out of the full command list.

Click View all commands to browse the full command list. Click Show top commands to collapse back to the shorter list.

Tip

Each command includes a short description so you can tell what it does before running it.

Primary Commands#

Useful commands include:

  • Add Folder: Choose a folder to add to the library
  • Add Files to Folder: Import files into the current folder
  • New Collection: Create a manual collection
  • New Smart Collection: Create a rule-based collection
  • New Collection Set: Create a container for related collections
  • Select All Images: Select every image in the active folder
  • Batch Metadata: Generate metadata for selected images
  • Batch Categories: Generate categories for selected images with keywords
  • Open Queue: Show active and past batch activity
  • Similar Image Audit: Find duplicate or near-duplicate images in the current folder
  • Set Copyright: Set copyright for one or more images
  • Preview Background: Change the preview pane background color
  • Preview Info: Show or hide filename, date/time, camera info, and location in the preview pane
  • Paste Title/Description/Keywords/Categories: Paste only one copied metadata field
  • Run Workflow: Open workflow actions
  • Upload Selected Images: Open upload controls
  • Write Metadata to Files: Embed metadata into files
  • Move Selected Images to Folder: Move selected images to another folder
  • Open Containing Folder: Reveal the active image in Finder or File Explorer
