Folder Management/Adding Media to Existing Folders

Adding Media to Existing Folders

MetaPhotoAI provides several flexible ways to add new images or videos to a folder that is already loaded in the application.

Method 1: Direct File System#

The simplest way to update a folder in MetaPhotoAI is to manage the files through your computer's native file system (Finder on macOS or File Explorer on Windows).

Navigate to the folder

Open your computer's file explorer and navigate to the physical folder on your hard drive.

Add your files

Add your new images or videos directly into that folder.

Automatic detection

MetaPhotoAI will detect the changes and update the library view.

Method 2: Drag and Drop#

You can also add files directly within the MetaPhotoAI interface:

Select files

Open your computer's file explorer and select the images or videos you want to add.

Drag to filmstrip

Drag the selected files and drop them directly onto the Film Strip (the carousel of thumbnails at the bottom of the application).

Choose import action

An "Import Files" dialog will appear, asking how you would like to handle the files.
