Using Metadata Templates
Metadata templates are a powerful feature in MetaPhotoAI that allow you to quickly apply frequently used titles, descriptions, keywords, and categories to your media. This is especially useful for recurring projects or consistent subject matter.
Creating a Template from an Existing File#
The easiest way to create a template is to use the metadata from an image you've already processed:
Select the source image
Find an image with metadata you want to save as a template.
Right-click
Right-click on the image in the bottom film strip.
Save as template
Select "Save Metadata Template" from the context menu.
Name your template
Enter a descriptive name for your template (e.g., "Nature Photography").
Confirm
Click "Save Template."
Applying a Template to Your Media#
Once a template is saved, you can apply it to one or many files instantly:
Select target images
Select the image(s) you wish to update in the film strip.
Right-click
Right-click on the selection.
Choose template
Navigate to "Apply Metadata Template" in the menu.
Select template
Choose the desired template from your saved list.
The application will immediately update the metadata fields for all selected files.
Tip
Templates are perfect for photo series or themed shoots where many images share similar keywords and categories.
