Uploading to Stock Agencies
MetaPhotoAI simplifies your workflow by allowing you to upload your processed images and videos directly to popular stock agencies or any custom FTP location. This guide covers how to configure, test, and manage your uploads.
Configuring FTP Credentials#
Before you can upload, you must provide your account details for each agency:
Method A: Via Settings#
Open Settings
Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top right.
Select FTP Settings
Select the "FTP Settings" tab.
Method B: Via Upload Button#
Click Upload
Click the "Upload" button in the bottom action bar.

In the configuration window:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Host | Select from preset agencies (Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Dreamstime) |
| Username | Your FTP username provided by the agency |
| Password | Your FTP password provided by the agency |
Advanced Options#
Most major agencies use default settings, but you can manually adjust:
- Host Address
- Port
- Protocol (FTP/SFTP)
Testing and Saving Connections#
To ensure your media reaches its destination without issues:
Enter credentials
After entering your credentials, click "Test Connection."
Wait for status
Wait for the status message. If successful, you will see a green "Connection successful" notification.
Save
Click "Save Host" to store these settings for future use.
Uploading Your Media#
Once your connections are set up:
Select media
Select the image(s) or video(s) in the filmstrip.
Click Upload
Click the "Upload" button in the bottom action bar.
Choose agency
Choose the target agency (e.g., "Upload to Shutterstock").
Monitor progress
An "Active" tab will open in the right panel, showing the upload progress of each file.
Smart Validation#
MetaPhotoAI automatically checks for agency-specific requirements before uploading:
| Validation | Description |
|---|---|
| File format | Checks if format is supported by the agency |
| File size | Verifies file meets minimum/maximum requirements |
| Metadata | Ensures required fields are populated |
Note
For example, if you attempt to upload HEIC files to Shutterstock, the app will inform you that the format is not supported and skip those files, preventing failed submissions.
Tracking Upload History#
MetaPhotoAI keeps a visual record of where your files have been sent:
Status Icons#
Once a file is uploaded, a small cloud icon appears at the bottom right of its thumbnail in the filmstrip.
View History#
Click the cloud icon on any thumbnail to see a detailed Upload History, listing:
- Which agencies received the file
- Upload timestamps
- Success/failure status
Supported Agencies#
| Agency | FTP Support |
|---|---|
| Adobe Stock | Yes |
| Shutterstock | Yes |
| Dreamstime | Yes |
| Getty Images | Yes |
| iStock | Yes |
| Custom FTP | Yes |
Tip
By integrating your stock agency accounts directly into MetaPhotoAI, you can move from raw image to a fully tagged, submitted asset in a single, streamlined process.
