Credit Usage Priority#
When you generate metadata, credits are deducted in the following order:
Monthly credits first
Your subscription's monthly credit allocation is used first.
Extra credits second
Once monthly credits are exhausted, extra credits (purchased separately) are used.
Monthly credits reset
At the start of your billing cycle, monthly credits reset to your tier's allocation. Unused monthly credits do not carry over.
Location Requests#
Location requests are separate from AI generation credits. They're used when MetaPhotoAI automatically adds GPS-based location tags to your images using reverse geocoding.

Frequently Asked Questions#
Do unused monthly credits roll over?#
No. Monthly credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Only extra credits (purchased separately) persist indefinitely.
Can I downgrade my subscription?#
Yes. You can downgrade at any time. The change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Your extra credits remain available regardless of your tier.
Can I upgrade mid-cycle?#
Yes. When you upgrade, you receive your new tier's monthly credit allocation immediately. Any remaining credits from your previous tier are forfeited, but extra credits are unaffected.
What counts as an "active device"?#
An active device is any computer where you've signed into the MetaPhotoAI desktop app. You can deactivate devices from your dashboard to free up slots.
